:X=pow2(Y) There is not equivalent function for **pow2** in Scilab
  but, when called with one input argument it can be emulated by:
  **2^Y**
: :X=pow2(F,E) In this case, Matlab **pow2()** ignores imaginary part
  of input arguments. An equivalent expression for this use of **pow2**
  is: **F.* 2 .^ E**(Note that 2 must be preceded and followed by a
  white space).
